Following last weeken’s open beta test for Grinding Gear Games’ ARPG Path of Exile, in which 46,911 people took part, GGG has opened up their special pre-purchase microtransaction credit store which gives gamers the opportunity to directly support the game’s development prior to the full release.
The cheapest tier is $10 which includes Closed Beta access for a friend. Higher purchases come with in-game Kiwi bird Pets, t-shirts, signed posters and the option to design a Unique Item. You can also buy extra character slots and stash tabs for your compulsive item hoarding. Any purchases made now will continue into the Open Beta – although your Closed Beta characters and non-microtransaction items will be wiped.
Being a small studio and the fact that the game is going to be free to play supported by microstransactions, these offers are a great way to show your support.
