Now the Beta is well underway, TRION has announced that the sci-fi MMO shooter Defiance will be released on 2 April. The launch date is a coupe of weeks prior to the TV show starting on the SyFy channel.
“After five years of development, it brings great pride to the Trion and Syfy teams seeing Defiance come to fruition,” says Trion’s Nathan Richardsson.
TRION are set to launch the second beta weekend for their sci-fi MMO Defiance on 8 February. It doesn’t sound like much has changed since the first beta, you’ll still be in San Francisco as an Ark Hunter, but you can check out the website if you have still to get your name down for beta access.

It’s not been long since the Storm Legion expansion was released and there’s some bad news as around 40 RIFT position have been made redundant at TRION according to Gamasutra. TRION issued a statement which reads:
As a response to market conditions, product timelines and the natural evolution of our company, we have made some organizational changes, which include a workforce reduction. This was a difficult decision and we wish the best for those affected by these changes. At Trion, we remain focused on delivering top quality online game experiences, and are committed to supporting RIFT and launching our highly anticipated new titles Defiance, Warface, and End of Nations in 2013.”
Fantastic news for MMO gamers this morning, Funcom has announced that the Secret World has gone free to play. Buy it once and it’s free to play forever. Bargain!

A new video in today for RaiderZ which looks at the St. Fhannel Monastery one of the monster hunting MMO’s high level instances.

Zenimax Online Studios has released the first episode of their The Elder Scrolls Online dev dairy series. In this video, they provide a glimpse at their upcoming MMO’s Elder Scrolls-style combat system, PVP battles, Megaserver technlogy, and the game’s exploration-based content.
While Zenimax has been consistantly been releasing news and information about The Elder Scrolls Online, no release date has been announced for the MMO.

Bethesda has recently opened and the official website for the Elder Scrolls Online and it features media (we posted the shots earlier in the week) as well as updated background information on the game’s story. If you’re going to be following the MMO then make sure you bookmark the page.
ZeniMax has released a handfull new screen shots for their upcoming Elder Scrolls Online MMO. While a release date has not yet been announced, several MMO and RPG sites recently had four hour hands-on preview of the game. Before the open Beta begins for the monster hunting MMO RaiderZ in Europe, Gameforge are calling on the community to join a stress test which starts on Monday 22 October.
To allow the technical departments to run stress tests, the servers will be put online on Monday, the 22nd of October. Your help will ensure server stability for the official start of the open beta phase. To thank you for your assistance, none of the servers will be wiped between the stress test and the open beta, meaning players will keep their characters once the servers are officially open.

Funcom’s Halloween event kicks off today as part of the issue #3 update called Cat God bringing a new storyline to the MMO specifically created for Halloween.
